About Me

I am in my “Overwhelmed Era” trying to embrace life’s chaos with passion. Between caring for my two energetic boys, supporting my loving Husband, keeping up with family and friends, managing my fulltime job, as well as my new small candle business all while navigating the turbulent waters of grief… my plate is full.

Amidst the whirlwind of responsibilities and emotions, I found that making candles has become my sanctuary. What started as a simple hobby soon transformed into a small business that became my source of peace, creativity, and connection to my late brother & my Mi’kmaq culture.

Sweetgrass holds a special significance in many cultures, and particularly in mine. I keep braided and bunches of sweetgrass around my home that was given to me by my Mi’kmaq family members in times of celebration or mourning. It's a symbol of peace, healing, and connection. I wanted my business to reflect the essence of these symbols.

The word "Vibes" channels the good energies that come from lighting a candle, whether it be for relaxation, celebration, or spiritual connection. It embodies the atmosphere I aim to create with each hand-poured delight — a space filled with warmth, serenity, and a little bit of quirkiness.

Combining "Sweetgrass" with "Vibes" signifies more than just a product; it’s about creating an experience steeped in cultural appreciation and positive spiritual practices.

I hope these clean, natural, handmade creations bring good vibes into your home and into your life.

More about my inspiration

Chris, my late brother, is my inspiration. Though he may no longer walk by my side, his spirit walks with me every day, inspiring me to bring my dreams and creativity to fruition. Chris was constantly immersing himself in various activities and projects that fueled his drive and enthusiasm for nature and life. His diverse interests kept him engaged and eager to learn more. He always tried to support small businesses and had an appreciate for handmade work.

After his passing, I found myself wandering through his home, touched by the tangible pieces of his creativity scattered everywhere. I was in awe of the time and commitment he poured into his crafts, a labor of love that spoke volumes about who he was. In that moment, I felt a spark ignited within me—a reminder that life is fleeting, and our passions deserve to be expressed.

His infectious energy and zest for trying new things is my motivation. He taught me that taking time for myself is important, dedication fuels passion, patience nurtures greatness, and the smallest seed of creativity has the potential to grow it a mighty tree of success.

Love you Chris
